SHEBuilds: Empowering women through tools, training, and transformation in the construction industry.

R.E ARCH & Works Constructions and Works Constructions have proudly launched SHEBuilds, a collaborative initiative aimed at empowering women to break barriers and build futures in the construction industry. Through practical training, mentorship, and on-site experience, SHEBuilds is designed to equip women with the skills and confidence to succeed in traditionally male-dominated fields.

“We’re building more than structures — we’re building opportunities,” said Linda Adebayo, Project Manager at R.E ARCH & Works Constructions and one of the key coordinators of SHEBuilds. “This program is about creating access and inspiring long-term careers in construction.”

SHEBuilds kicked off with a 12-week intensive program that included workshops in carpentry, masonry, project management, and safety compliance. The sessions were led by industry veterans and featured site visits to active R.E ARCH & Works Constructions projects. Over 60 women participated in the first cohort, with many already securing apprenticeships or full-time roles upon completion.

The initiative also connects participants to seasoned mentors, creating a support system that fosters continuous learning and growth. “I never thought I’d be on a construction site managing logistics,” shared participant Chinelo Okafor. “SHEBuilds showed me I can lead, not just learn.”

R.E ARCH & Works Constructions and Works Constructions are committed to scaling SHEBuilds into a nationwide program by 2026, with expanded modules in electrical, civil works, and green building technologies.

As demand for skilled labor continues to rise, SHEBuilds is not only closing the gender gap — it’s reshaping the future of construction.

“When women build, communities thrive,” added Adebayo. “SHEBuilds is about ensuring the next generation of builders looks more inclusive, more empowered, and more unstoppable.”
